How to prevent the extruder temperature from fluctuating too much?

1. Optimize the temperature control system
Regularly check and maintain the heating and cooling system:
Check the heating elements regularly, use tools such as multimeters to detect whether their resistance values are normal, and replace damaged heating elements in time.
Check whether the cooling water pipeline is unobstructed and whether there is any blockage or leakage. If there is a problem, clean the pipeline or repair the leak in time, and ensure the normal operation of the water pump to maintain a stable cooling flow.
Use advanced temperature control technology:
Use the PID control system to automatically adjust the heating and cooling system to maintain the set temperature according to the temperature value fed back by the temperature sensor.
For situations with large temperature fluctuations, consider using a dual-sensor temperature controller to reduce temperature and control signal fluctuations by responding to the average temperature of the extruded material being processed instead of the actual temperature.
2. Stabilize the screw speed
Use an advanced variable frequency speed regulation system to control the screw speed and set the appropriate speed range and accuracy. At the same time, regularly check the screw transmission components, such as belts, gears, etc., to ensure their normal operation and avoid unstable speed due to problems such as slipping.
3. Optimize material management
Try to maintain the consistency and stability of raw materials. When changing the batch of raw materials, conduct a small test in advance and adjust the temperature setting value of the extruder according to the test results to adapt to the characteristics of the new raw materials.
4. Improve environmental control
For production sites with large changes in ambient temperature, air conditioning systems or insulation facilities can be installed to reduce the impact of ambient temperature on the extruder.
5. Reasonably set temperature parameters
When setting the temperature, the temperature of the feeding section, compression section, metering section and die head should be reasonably set according to the characteristics of the material. For example, the temperature of the feeding section should be low to prevent the material from melting prematurely; the temperature of the metering section should be appropriate to ensure good material fluidity.
6. Regularly maintain equipment
Regularly check the various components of the extruder, including the screw, barrel, heating ring, etc., to ensure their normal operation. For severely worn parts, they should be replaced in time.
