Single Screw Extruder

Single Screw Extruder is a commonly used plastic processing equipment used to heat, melt, and extrude plastic particles to eventually form the desired plastic products. It consists of a rotating screw and a cylindrical screw barrel on the periphery. In operation, the plastic particles are first loaded into the feed port and then pushed into the barrel by the screw. When the screw rotates, the plastic particles are heated and melted by friction and heating. Subsequently, under high pressure, the molten plastic is extruded from the barrel and cooled and formed through the mold.

Single screw extruders can be used to produce a variety of plastic pipes, plastic profiles, and plastic sheets when paired with different dies and downstream production lines.

1. Feeding: Add plastic granules or powder into the hopper of the extruder.
2. Melting: When the screw rotates, the material is melted by shear force and external heating in the barrel.
3. Mixing and plasticizing: The rotation of the screw makes the material fully mixed and plasticized in the barrel.
4. Extrusion molding: The molten material is extruded through the mold to form the desired shape.
5. Cooling and shaping: The extruded material is shaped by the cooling device, and finally cut and packaged.
